winter spring summer and fall

Much to everyone's chagrin, including my own, I may have to start wearing the pseudo-uggs out.  I really do not like being cold, and since buying these a few days ago, I do not want to take them off.

Of course I have other shoes, really cute ones, actually.  But in each season, these four probably get the most use.  Yes, I do wear those pink wellies quite a bit, more than my husband would like.

I have been sick for a week, and this is the best I could muster today.

If I don't get back here, Happy Thanksgiving.
I am very thankful for warm feet.

I like to sew. I also like to take photos.

I am a perpetual student at both. I have a lot of ideas about how things should look, and am visually inspired.
I tend to be really zealous about one thing for a week, and jump to another the next. I will sew a ton, then I won't touch any fabric for a while, but I will pick up my camera, and so on. This past week I decided to gather some littles and put them in my sewn goods, and attempted to make some of my visions come to life. I don't have any big plans for the photos, I'm not sure when or where I will use them. More so it was this great exercise in creativity. A big, fat practice session of styling and shooting and it was so much fun.
I had a scene very much like this in my head before we got started, so when this happened, this little interaction,  I was happy.  Visions becoming a reality give me a great sense of satisfaction.
My friend Kelley and her daughter, Giada came over for a play date/model sesh.  She even brought delicious snacks!  I'm telling you, it was a good day.  I'm going to try to do something like this again next week.  For now, these photos are for Giada's momma.  Thanks, Kelley!  Hopefully soon I'll make a little page with all my handmade goodies.  I'm glad I challenged myself.

Fall back

Normally I am not a big fan of changing our clocks back in fall. I am not a fan of shorter days, or less sunshine. This morning Chloe was up before 6am, and I felt surprisingly rested, so we got up. I suggested coffee and hot chocolate at the beach. I'm so glad we went. It was a gorgeous morning, and while I am feeling really sleepy now at 10am, the days aren't that much shorter if one gets up with the sun. We'll see how long that outlooks lasts. Oddly, it feels like a new year, a fresh new start, but ask me again tonight at 5:30 when darkness falls.
