Noticing.

When I came home from school drop-off the other day I was noticing the nice sunlight coming in, and  little scenes around the house.  I really want to share before and afters of this house, but most of the before photos live on an old computer, one with a bad attitude, one that I am avoiding.  If I am going to move forward with this blog the way I would like, I am going to have to sit down with that machine and see if it will give me what I need.  This is me pushing myself toward that end.

Happy Monday, hope it is a bright and cheerful one.

Starting Saturday off right.

I started this morning off with coffee and magazines in bed.  Absolutely delightful.  I love magazines.  Love.  And I was alone with them.

On the superpragmatic side, I noticed on a recent trip to Lowe's that they had these free classes on Saturday mornings.  This weekend's class was full, but I signed Geoff and Chloe up for the next one in February where they will build a music box.
It being Saturday, Geoff needed to go to Lowe's anyway, so I suggested they go together to see if maybe someone didn't show for today's class, and there was room for Chloe.  Apparently they had a great turn out, but the nice lady at Lowe's couldn't turn this girl down, yay!
I'm so glad they went, they had a great time!  Chloe hammered the nails herself.  Along with her apron, she got safety goggles and two balls for the ball toss.  What a great program, check to see if there is one in your area.
Have a great weekend, everyone.  I'm going to get outside and enjoy it.

Chloe's 4th Birthday

Just a few friends for a fashion show and tea party.  The tea party never happened, but the fashion show did.  There was pizza and sparkling cranberry juice, referred to as fancy drink by the birthday girl.
And of course, there was cake.  Chocolate with chocolate frosting and rainbow sprinkles per her request.  Oh, and mint chip ice cream.  I like her taste, and her style.  I adore this girl.

After the party there was a viewing of the Princess and the Frog which included salty popcorn,
followed by a lot of running around which always precedes saying goodbye.  It was a good day.

I'm back.

I didn't intend to take two months off from blogging.  Once I got behind, I felt overwhelmed and then I didn't know where to start back up.  Do I start where I left off, at Thanksgiving weekend?  That seems so long ago.
I really want to finish my daughter's birthday photos, so that's where I'll start.  Who knows where it will go from there.  One of my goals for two thousand eleven is to be better about this.  I should start with a small goal of two posts a week.  I'm just glad to be back.
